Carlann C. (Schimmell) Abshier, 85, of Evansville , Indiana, passed away Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Heritage Center. Carlann was born in Evansville, Indiana on February 22, 1933 to the late Roy and Fay (Goodman) Schimmell. She was a 1950 graduate of Central High School.

She took care of her parents and other family members as they aged and needed help. Carlann is survived by her daughter, Judy Land and significant other, Tim Taylor of Chandler, IN; sons, Dan Abshier (Kathy) of Bloomington, IN and Craig Abshier (Leslie) of Evansville, IN; son-in-law, Dan Gretler; grandchildren, Matthew Abshier, Nick Abshier (Kendre), Chris Abshier (Leslie), and Sara Price-Presslaff (Devin), Brandon Gretler (Misti) and Jason Gretler (Katie), Robert Jeffries, Kari Parsons, and Ashlyn Wright; and great-grandchildren, Allison Abshier, Tyler Abshier, Gracie Abshier, Haylie Abshier, Nolan Gretler, Kinley Gretler; and great-grandchildren, Jackson Jeffries, Maya and Mimsie Price-Presslaff, Allie Holland, Noah Baggett, and Jack Abshier. Carlann was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Abshier; daughter, Susan Gretler; grandson, Kyle Abshier; her parents; and a brother, Jean Schimmell.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at Oak Hill Mausoleum with Pastor Steve Clayton officiating. Friends may visit from 9:00 AM until service time on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at Oak Hill Mausoleum. Memorial contributions may be made to Heritage Hospice, 1202 W. Buena Vista, Suite 200, Evansville, IN 47710.
