Joseph R. Duncan, 82, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at his home. Joe was born in Corydon, Kentucky on April 27, 1936 to the late Marion L. and Mary Catherine (Thompson) Duncan. He was a 27 year United States Army Veteran and honorably served in Korea and Japan and with the National Guard.

Joe is survived by wife of 64 years, Shirley (Lipking) Duncan of Evansville, IN; daughters, Barbara Hajek (Danny) of Evansville, IN, and Mary York of Evansville, IN; son, Paul Duncan (Pam) of Evansville, IN; sister, Theresa Thompson of Evansville, IN; brother, Delbert Duncan (Beverly) of Evansville, IN; and by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Joe was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Joseph Duncan, and Daniel Duncan; sisters, Mary Wargel, and Delia Duncan; and by brothers, Marion Duncan, and James Duncan. A celebration of Joe’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave.

, Evansville, IN 47711. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery where the Retired Veterans Memorial Club will conduct military rites. Friends may visit from 11:00 AM until service time on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Browning Funeral Home.
