Obituary for Constance “Connie” J. Laubscher Constance J. “Connie” (Steinmetz) Laubscher, age, 86, of Evansville passed away July 7, 2018 at Heritage Center in Evansville, IN. She was born January 23, 1932 in Evansville to the late Charles and Hazel (Wingert) Steinmetz. Connie was formally employed at National City Bank and later she worked for Vanderburgh County Assessor’s Office, Treasurer’s Office, City Controller’s Office and Voter’s Registration from where she retired in 1987.

Connie was a member of Grace Baptist Church and worked in the nursery for over 30 years and served on the decorating committee during the period when the sanctuary was being completely remodeled. She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 brothers-in-law, Charles and Herbert Laubscher, and Bill Kleiman. She is survived by her husband, Robert W. Laubscher of Evansville; brother, Charles Steinmetz (Wanda) of Owensboro; sister, Nancy Kleiman of Haubstadt, and nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 3:00 – 8:00 pm Monday, July 9, 2018 at Ziemer Funeral Home North Chapel, 6300 N First Ave, Evansville, IN 47710 and will continue from 9:00 – 11:00 am the next day. Funeral service will begin Tuesday at 11:00 am, at the funeral home with Pastor Ray Deeter and former Associate Pastor Rick Porter officiating. Burial will be at New Salem Cemetery (Camp Ground).
