Obituary for Dorothy Bender Dorothy R. Bender, 98 of Evansville, passed away Friday, July 6, 2018 at her home. She was born January 25, 1920 to the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Bittner) Gansman. Dorothy was a member of St. Benedict Cathedral where she and her husband were married in 1944.

Dorothy was a long time member of St. Benedict Cathedral She was formerly employed at Grants Department Store and enjoyed gardening. She is survived by her daughters, Donna (Len) Stratman, and Arlene (Richard Terry) Fechtmeister; granddaughters, Heather (Jon) Gehlhausen; great granddaughters, Bryanna Blessinger and Alyssa Blessinger; nieces and a nephew. Visitation will be Monday, July 9, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. 10:30 a.m. at St. Benedict Cathedral, 1328 Lincoln Ave.

Evansville, IN with Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 10:30 a.m. with Father Godfrey Mullen officiating. Burial at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Benedicts Cathedral Catholic Church, 1328 Lincoln Ave.
