Carl Bernard Shultz, 79, of Walker died December 28, 2018 at his residence. He was born on November 7, 1939 in Wood County a son of the late Clair Claude and Hannah Blair Shultz. He retired from the West Virginia Department of Highways as an equipment operator and was a member of Walker United Methodist Church.

He was a US Vietnam Veteran serving as both a Marine and later with the Navy Seabees. He was also a member of the VFW and American Legion and enjoyed woodworking. Carl is survived by his sons, Carl (Shelia) Shultz, Jr. of Parkersburg, David (Melody) Shultz of Parkersburg, Steven (Alice) Shultz of Georgia, Evan (Peggy) Shultz of Walker, Bryan Shultz of Belpre, Michael (Lori) Shultz of Marietta, OH; 18 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; four sisters and two brothers.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Allen Shultz; five sisters and four brothers. Funeral services will be Thursday, January 3, 2019, 11:00 am at the Leavitt Funeral Home of Parkersburg with Pastor Rodney Blanchard, officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 2, 2019, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, WV. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.
