Virginia Monroe Violet Virginia Hofmann Monroe, 98 of Parkersburg went to be with the Lord December 21, 2018. She was born in Wood County April 30, 1920, a daughter of the late Charley Hofmann and Ethel M. (Davis) Hofmann. Virginia was a member of Grace Baptist Church and a homemaker.

She was a fine seamstress and she enjoyed bowling and camping. Virginia is survived by son Christopher W. Monroe (Kimberly) of Parkersburg, two grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilber A. Monroe, step-son, Donald G. Monroe, step-daughter, Dorothy I. Wharton, three sisters, Edith C. Phillips, Garnet E. Price, and Doris E. Summerville, six brothers, Kenneth, Carmen C, Carl O, Harold, Donald E, and Ray L. Hofmann.

Service will be Thursday 1:00 PM at the Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg with Reverend Todd Hill officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday from 11:00 to 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
