Maxwell, age 83, of Baxter will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday from Whitson Funeral Home in Cookeville. Bro. Chris McMillen will officiate at the service and family and friends will serve as Pallbearers.

Burial will follow in the Mount Holly Cemetery in DeKalb County TN. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00pm until 9:00pm and on Saturday from 9:00am until time of services at 2:00pm at the funeral home. Carmel C. Maxwell was born on May 5, 1935 in Putnam County TN to the late Fowler Owens Maxwell and Della Hickey Maxwell.

He passed away on October 18, 2018 at his home in Baxter surrounded by family. Mr. Maxwell was a factory worker and Farmer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by; step mother, Versa Maxwell and half-sister Charlie Mae Bowman.

His family includes, wife of 56 years, Helen Maxwell of Baxter, 3 sons and daughter in-laws, Tommy and tammy Maxwell of North Carolina, Russell and Michaela Maxwell of Baxter and Joey Maxwell of Baxter, one brother, Kenneth Maxwell of Baxter, 1 sister, Anna Ruth Barr of Colorado. He also has 8 grandchildren, Chelsea York, Dalton Maxwell, Jaxon Maxwell, Teaha Martin, April Martin, C.J. Maxwell, Tyler Maxwell and Alyssa Tiller. 9 great grandchildren, Riley York, Chase Martin, Tiara Martin, Alleigh Martin, Remington Martin, Johnathan Martin, Timothy Martin, Bradin Martin and Weston Martin.
