Carol’s Obituary Carol A. Miller, 77, of Dillsburg, passed away Friday, March 8, 2019, at the Hospice of the Piedmont’s Hospice House in Charlottesville, VA. She had visits from so many of her friends, family and loved ones who came to Charlottesville to see her in the last month and was so happy to have so much love that surrounded her. She was born June 13, 1941, in Carlisle, PA, the daughter of the late Glenn and Margaret (Baker) Smith.

After graduating from Shippensburg, Carol worked as a teacher before moving to Ohio, where she was a stay at home mom and then started working at a library. Carol moved back to Dillsburg in the 1980’s to care for her parents full time while also volunteering at the Dillsburg Area Public Library. Carol enjoyed reading and spending time with her family, friends and her adoring kitty, Molly.

Carol was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching her favorite Cleveland teams, the Browns and Indians. She was wonderful and kind to everyone she met and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Carol is survived by her loving companion of many years, Jerry Whitman, of Dillsburg; sister, Karen Hopf, of Dillsburg; son, John Miller and his wife Heather, of Charlottesville, VA; a granddaughter, Kira Miller; nephew, Nathan R. Hopf, his wife Gina and their children Laura, Michael and Sylvia, of Morton, PA; and the children of Jerry Whitman, Tom and Cathy Whitman and their children Ahren and Tayler, of New Cumberland, PA and Vicki and Richard Sutton, of Jersey Shore, PA.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at 11:00 am in the Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc., 30 N. Chestnut St., Dillsburg. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Dillsburg Cemetery on Mountain Road.
