Carolyn Elizabeth (Pechart) Link, 75, of West Deptford, NJ and formerly of Mechanicsburg, PA passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, Philadelphia, PA. She was born July 24, 1942 in Mechanicsburg, PA to the late Robert Hoover and Elizabeth Irene (Baughman) Pechart. Carolyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.

She was a 1960 graduate of Cumberland Valley High School and a 1965 graduate of Polyclinic Hospital… Read More » School of Nursing, Harrisburg, PA. She was a terrific Navy wife, spending 14 years of her husband’s 22-year Navy career with him living in Rhode Island, Georgia, Florida and Mechanicsburg, PA before moving to Japan for 2 years. She adored her daughters, Pam and Kim, and grandchildren, Kylie and Corey.

She was full of life, always had such a nice way about her…cared for others before herself which explains why she loved her profession of being a nurse; so compassionate in everything she did. She worked for HUP/Penn Medicine for 28 years. She never complained and always had a smile on her face which would light up a room and make you feel like everything was always going to be OK.

Carolyn loved to spend time with her family and enjoyed going to her beach house in Ocean City, NJ on the weekends. Later in life, she became an avid Phillies fan and enjoyed several trips to spring training in Clearwater, FL. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Spencer F. Link of West Deptford, NJ; two daughters, Pamela (husband Steven) Crum of Mechanicsburg, PA and Kimberly (husband Robert) Wassall of Hamilton, NJ; two brothers, Donald R. (wife Pauline) Pechart of New Oxford, PA and William O. (wife Julia) Pechart of Mechanicsburg, PA and two grandchildren, Kylie and Corey Wassall.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her nephew, Scott Pechart. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 West Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA with Rev. Sarah A. Heintzelman officiating.

Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery at Churchtown. A viewing will be held from 11:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Carolyn to the American Cancer Society at www. cancer.org.
