Obituary for Carolyn Jean Meek Lucas Carolyn Jean Meek Lucas, 83, of Hurricane joined her husband in Heaven Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Broadmore Assisted Living, Hurricane. Born October 11, 1935, she grew up in Dunbar and was a 1952 graduate of Dunbar High School and received a business management degree from West Virginia State College, Institute. She was a retired manager from Bell Atlantic.

She had been a member of the Nitro Church of God for many years and most recently has been supporting Teays Valley Church of God. Carolyn was a well-known presence in the Kanawha Valley area and will be greatly missed by many friends, colleagues and family. She is preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, John H. Lucas; mother, Elizabeth Kelly meek; grandmother, Blanche Ethel Kelly.

Surviving are nieces and nephews, Ed and Norma Lucas of Teays Valley, Pat Lucas of Richmond, VA, Russell Lucas of Indian Creek. Funeral service will be held at 3pm Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Chapman Funeral Home, Hurricane with Rev. Dr. Melissa Pratt and Rev.

Arley Craven. Entombment will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm Thursday at the funeral home.
