Carolyn M. Smith, 96, formerly of Pottsville and Lebanon, died Saturday, January 26, 2019 at the Lebanon Valley Home. She was the wife of the late Edwin “Ned” Smith. Born in Pottsville on August 27, 1922, she was the daughter of the late John and Alma Houck Malick.

Carolyn graduated from Pottsville High School with the class of 1940, and worked as a Proof Reader for the Pottsville Republican newspaper. Over many years, Carolyn was the organist at the English Lutheran Church, Pottsville, Zion Lutheran Church, Lebanon, and finally retiring from St. Mark’s UCC, Lebanon in 1997. Surviving is a daughter Sally Ann Stoner, wife of Bruce H. Stoner, Jr. of Toano, VA, three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at 11 a.m. at The Lebanon Valley Home Chapel, 550 E. Main Street, Annville, PA 17003. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
