Obituary for Carrie Murrell (Mckenzie) MURRELL – Carrie Aline (McKenzie) Murrell, age 87, of Sparta, lovingly remembered as Gramma Great was born January 24, 1931 and passed on July 10, 2018 with her family by her side. She has gone to be with our Lord Jesus and to join her sons, Jimmy, David, Keith, Gary, Robert, beautiful granddaughter, Ashlie; siblings, Bill McKenzie, Laura Maggard, Opal Cox and Maude Blackford, her children’s father, Ralph Murrell, and many other family members who have gone before her. Carrie is survived by her daughters, Paulette (Doug) Lee, Cathy (Rick) Centilli, Tammy (Mark) Sauline, Theresa (Art) May and Susie Murrell; sons, Jeffrey and Joseph Murrell; 20 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother, James (June) McKenzie; sisters, Jean (Ray) Franks and Dorothy Exline; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Carrie has had an incredible journey in life with the family she loved dearly and is now enjoying those gone before her. She was employed with G.R. Die Cast for 30 years and was also a member of Gold Star Mothers. Carrie was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2006.

She has fought many courageous battles with this debilitating disease. We will always cherish the moments and the memories this loving and giving woman has blessed us with. She was in every sense a true matriarch of her large family.

Carrie loved listening to country music, growing plants, flower gardening, cooking, quilting, crafting, oh so many crafts, talents, and inner strengths that she has passed on to each and everyone. Our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother will be forever missed and never forgotten. She will live in our hearts and minds until we see her again.

The family would like to thank the staff at Porter Hills, and a special thanks to Janette who recognized her qualities and loved her as we did, also an extended thank you to Emanuel Hospice. She drew so many people into her life. The family will receive family and friends for visitation, at the Beuschel Funeral Home 5018 Alpine Avenue, Comstock Park from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., on Friday, July 13, 2018.
