Obituary for Catherine Dillard Moyer Catherine Dillard Moyer, 90, of Martinsville, passed away, Thursday, October 4, 2018 at her home. She was born December 5, 1927 in Henry County to the late John and Edna Norman Dillard. She was the co-founder of Gethsemane Apostolic Pentecostal Church of Christ which was organized in the 1960’s, and served as Treasurer and Mother of the Church.

The Church was her life and joy. She retired from Hampco, enjoyed preparing for holiday events, and traveling. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron McDaniel Moyer.

She is survived by her daughters, Shawaii Martin, Zandra Hall (Kirkwood) and Catherine Revel; sisters, Christine Kellam and the late Bishop Robert Kellam, Evelyn Hobson and the late Frank Hobson, and Edna Delores Doggett; brothers Joe Dillard (Iniease), Bobby Lee Dillard (Annette) and John Edward Dillard (Carolyn); seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Monday, October 8, 2018, at 12:00 noon at Gethsemane Apostolic Pentecostal Church of Christ in Rocky Mount, Virginia, with Bishop Robert Denzell Kellam officiating. The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the service.
