Obituary for Frederick Geronald Spencer Frederick “Wier” Geronald Spencer, 59, departed this life on November 25, 2018 at his residence. He was born on June 29, 1959 to John “June” Spencer, Jr. and Evonuier Spencer, who survive. Fred worked for Stanley Furniture in Stanleytown, VA, for 20 years.

He was a member of Christian View Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed cooking, gardening and watching his favorite football team, the Oakland Raiders, and his favorite basketball team, the LA Lakers. In addition to his parents, “June” and Evonuier Spencer; Frederick leaves to cherish precious memories the mother of his children, Vanessa (Vanny) Spencer; three daughters, Tiffany Finney-Jones, Alisha (Ashley) Gibson both of Greensboro, NC, and Rakisha Spencer of Martinsville; one sister, Freda Spencer of Martinsville; one nice, Tiffany Spencer; three nephews, Marcus Spencer, Chevis Spencer and Deshawn Holland; four grandchildren, Destyni Millner, Khameryn Millner, Za’riyah Spencer and Desiah Harris-Wallace; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral was held on November 29, 2018 at Wright Funeral Service Chapel. Burial was at the Craighead Family Cemetery. Wright Funeral Service & Crematory is serving the family.
