Obituary for Nellie Alston Pharr Nellie Mae Alston Pharr, 89, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2018. She was born in Mt. Gilead, North Carolina, on August 3, 1929, to the late Byrdette and Marie Robinson Alston.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Osawa Pharr. She was a homemaker and was a hospice volunteer. Mrs. Pharr is survived by her sons, Maurice, Jr. (Michele), Timmy and Steven (Juanita) Pharr; 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

A Graveside Service will be on Friday, November 30, 2018, at 11:00 AM at Carver Memorial Gardens with Pastor Eric Hairston officiating. Wright Funeral Service & Crematory is serving the family. On Line condolences may be made at www.
