Catherine “Kay” E. Trama, 89, of Manalapan, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at CareOne in Holmdel. She was born in New York and had lived in Brooklyn and Queens before moving to Manalapan in 1985. Kay had a true gift and love of art, and enjoyed painting.

In her younger years, Kay and her husband spent many hours roller skating. Kay also enjoyed playing bingo. She was a very giving person as evident in her volunteer work as a member of the Ladies Auxiliary raising money for Centra State Hospital.

She was a Eucharistic Minister and also taught CCD at St. Thomas More Church. Kay involved herself with her grandkids activities and even received a plaque for being the First Cheerleading Grandmother in Manalapan. She was predeceased by her husband Biagio “Benny” Trama, a brother Carl and a sister Marie.

She leaves behind her loving children Diane Santora nee Trama and her husband Steve, Nicholas Trama and his wife Jeannie, cherished siblings Peter Capella and his wife Debbie and Eleanor Modugno, adoring grandchildren Marisa Santora, Steven Santora Jr., Biagio Trama and his wife Christina, Nicole Trama, Danielle Trama, and Nicholas Trama Jr., and great grandchildren Grace and Biagio Trama, Jr. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Waitt Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 501 Highway 79, Morganville, New Jersey. A funeral mass will take place on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at St. Clement Church, Matawan at 10 AM followed by interment in Long Island National Cemetery.
