Catherine Kaub Blumel March 21, 1927 – September 25, 2018 Catherine Kaub Blumel, 91, of Eden, passed away on September 25, 2018. Born in Weehawken, NJ on March 21, 1927, she graduated from Woodridge High School in 1944, before attending and graduating from Hackensack Hospital School of Nursing, NJ in 1948 as an RN. On February 7, 1948, she married the love of her life, Herman F. Blumel, Jr. (deceased), and they had two sons and two daughters while living in Paramus and Woodcliff Lake, NJ.

Over the years Catherine was employed at Hackensack Hospital and Pascack Valley Hospital in NJ, Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital in NYC, and McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden. Her specialties were Labor/Delivery and Surgery. She always enjoyed living in Eden; traveling to Europe, Israel, and Mexico; swimming; Utah skiing; tennis; hiking in the Utah mountains; and growing flowers.

She was a woman of deep faith. Survivors: son, William (Lydia) Blumel of Canfield, OH; daughter, Susan (Wilbur) Blumel-Berg of Dubois, WY; daughter, Virginia (Gregory) Blumel-Wilson of Salt Lake City; son, Daniel (Jane) Blumel of Ogden; exchange student daughter, Veronique (Jean Luc) Hachez of Belgium; sister, Sally (Peter, deceased) Mason of Wildomar, CA; seven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Burial was before sundown on Wednesday, September 26, 2018, and a Memorial Service will be held at Mountain View Cemetery, 5555 E 2700 No, Eden, UT on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at 12:30 PM.

Depending on weather, it may be moved to an indoor location from there. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Utah Food Bank (https//www. utahfoodbank.org) 801-978-2452 or the food bank of your choice.
