Samuel (Steven) Lower III March 16, 1967 ~ November 26, 2018 Samuel (Steven) Lower III age 51, returned to his departed family members, and beloved friends in heaven on Monday, November 26, 2018. Stevie was born on March 16, 1967, in Tachikawa, Tokyo, Japan to Samuel Steven Lower Jr and Dianne Dee Peterson. He grew up in Plain City, Utah and graduated from Canyon View School.

He was happily employed at Enable Industries in Ogden Utah, for many years. Stevie’s favorite hobbies were bowling, dancing, scouting and watching the Utah Jazz. He earned his Eagle Scout Award and loved participating in the Special Olympics with his special needs friends, and favorite coach, George Bateman.

During his time as an athlete, Stevie won over 200 medals and a place in the Utah Special Olympics Hall of Fame. Steve was a proud member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was always quick to shake everyone’s hand at church, and introduce himself as “I Steve Lower”.

He loved bearing his testimony and doing weekly temple sessions with his family and special needs friends. Stevie is survived by his parents, Sam and Dianne Lower; brothers: Bob (Michele) Lower, Dave (Chris) Lower; Dan (Brenda) Lower and sisters, Susan (Phil) Burnett; and Christy (Houston) Stinson, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews who all loved him dearly. A viewing will be held on Friday, November 30, 2018, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Plain City 4th Ward Chapel 4350 W. 2350 N. Plain City, UT.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2018, at 11 a.m. with a viewing from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. also at the Plain City 4th Ward. Interment will be in the Plain City Cemetery. The family would like to thank all of the people who sacrificed their time and res to improve the lives of Stevie and his special needs friends.
