Cecil “C.O.” Ommer Young November 24, 1926 – December 31, 2018 Mr. Cecil Ommer “C.O.” Young, Jr., 92, of Panama City, Fl, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 31, 2018. He was born on November 24, 1926 in Decatur County, TN to Cecil and Myrtle Arrington Young. C.O. was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1946.

He graduated in 1953 from Union University with a B.S. in Biology and a Masters Degree from Alabama College. C.O. taught physics, physical science and biology for 8 yrs. In Hardin County, TN and 25 yrs.

in Bay County, FL. He is preceded in death by his parents Cecil and Myrtle Young; in-laws, George and Hattie Lockhart and a son-in-law, Tommy Kirkland. C.O. is survived by his wife of 72 yrs.

, Georgia Faye Lockhart Young; four daughters, Sharlet Ludlum (Bob) of Panama City, Janet Brantley (David) of Andalusia, AL, Patricia Kirkland and Donna Johnson (Edsel) of Dothan, AL; grandchildren, Holly Ludlum Seales, Robyn Ludlum, Mitchell Brantley, Bryan Kirkland, Courtney Kirkland Halubka, Amanda Johnson McClintock and Matthew Johnson; and seventeen great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, January 6, 2018 at Southerland Event Center in Lynn Haven with Rick Seales officiating. The family will begin receiving friends at 1:30 p.m. prior to the service.

Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Panama City Building Fund in memory of Mr. Young.
