James Doyle Roper October 04, 1936 – February 01, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries James “Jimmy” Doyle Roper, who was born October 4, 1936 passed away February 1, 2019 surrounded by his family. He was the owner of Roper Electric Motor Service which he established in 1985. He was a jack of all trades and a master of most.

When he wasn’t fixing something, he loved to be on the Choctawhatchee River catching bream or catfish. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Lester J. and Lois Roper and his wife of 59 years, Betty Joan Roper. He is survived by his children, Susan Hughes, Randy Roper and Jamie Roper and his wife, Shelly, 6 grandchildren, Stacy Fendley (Donell), Clint Hughes, Jessica Kuhens, Rebecca Aragon, Zach Kuhens, Brittany Roper and nine great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday one hour prior to the service. Private family interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
