Obituary for Chantel Leanne Elsesser Print Chantel Leanne Elsesser 17 of Lewistown died January 28 at Hershey Medical Center after a head on collision. She is the daughter of Daniel and Pamela (Naylor) Elsesser of Lewistown. Siblings are Rachel and Nathan Elsesser and Alex Knoth all of Lewistown, and foster sister Sage McCool Price of Lewistown.
She is also survived by the love of her life Dalton Byers of Mount Union, Thelma Flory her special Auntie, parental grandmother Patty Elsesser, and her adopted grandparents Ron and Jean Yetter. Chantel also had many aunts, uncles and cousins from both sides of her family who loved her dearly. In addition, she had two special pets in her life, Seymour, her skinny pig and Charlie, her sissy’s dog.
She was preceded in death by maternal grandmother Betty Naylor and paternal grandfather Robert Elsesser. Chantel was a senior at Mifflin County High School where she was an honor student. She attended the Academy of Science and was enrolled in the Medical Science Program.
She loved her classmates and teacher Mrs. Philips. Her plans were to go to college and become an RN. She was employed at Dunkin Donuts by Lowe’s.
Her smile and friendly service were contagious. She loved her work there and quickly became part of the Dunkin family. Chantel attended New Life church.
She accepted the Lord as her personal Savior during a Skillet concert at the Uprise Festival on September 15, 2017. She followed in believer’s baptism on September 27, 2017. Chantel will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, gorgeous eyes, quick wit, bubbly attitude and her ability to make anyone laugh.
Chantel had a big heart and the last gift she could give was the gift of life through her organ donations. A funeral service in loving memory of Chantel will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday February 2, 2019 at Calvary Bible Church, 100 Calvary Lane, Lewistown with Pastors: Howard Houtz, John Walters, Travis Habbershon and John Reed officiating. There will be a viewing held at the church from 6-9:00 p.m. on Friday February 1, 2019, and on Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the church.
Interment will take place in Mount Rock Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of The Barr Funeral Home Inc. and Crematory, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
