Charles Chuck David Miller , March 02, 1944 — May 16, 2018

Charles “Chuck” David Miller, loving husband, father and grandfather, age 74, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at his residence. Born in McDowell County on March 2, 1944, he was the son of the late Charles H. Miller and Mae Conley Shell. Chuck was also preceded in death by his step father, Ernest Shell; and one sister, Frances Stines.

An avid reader of Christian books, Chuck was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Nebo where he drove the church bus and served as an usher. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and served with the Army National Guard. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Mary H. Miller of the home; one daughter, Tammy Lynn McKee (Raymond) of Atlanta, Georgia; one half-sister, Polly Ratcliff of Iowa; one-half brother, Carl Shell of Illinois; two grandsons, T.J. Madden and Tyler Madden; and two great-grandchildren, Elijah Madden and Evelynn Madden.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Brother T.J. Madden and Chaplain Richard Anderson officiating. Military honors will be provided by the United States Navy. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.

Interment will be held at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
