Charles “Chuck” Reed Holcomb, age 76, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours on Tuesday, February 26, 2019. He was born on July 20, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan to Louis Litman Holcomb and Barbara Maud Holcomb. Chuck attended Davis High School, where he was very socially active and interested in History and Science.

He left High School early to join the Army. Chuck served in the United States Army from 1959 to 1962. He was very proud to serve his country and even more so proud to be stationed with his idol, Elvis Presley.

After his service, he began his career in the United States Postal Service in Ogden, Utah. He dedicated almost 29 years prior to his retirement as the Postmaster for the Hurricane, Utah, Post Office. He was a hard worker and exceptionally career-oriented.

Chuck was quite the charmer. As a young adult, he could be seen at the local Disco. In his later years, he enjoyed gardening, canning, or watching his favorite football team, the Denver Broncos.

On November 19, 1964, he married Sandy Brennen. He then married the love of his life, Liegh Ann Moss, on October 6, 1977 in Elko, Nevada. He is preceded in death by his two nephews, Tim Holcomb and Todd Holcomb.

He is survived by his wife, Leigh Ann, of nearly 42 years. Three brothers and a sister, Fred (Vonda) Holcomb, Colleen Jordan, Louis Holcomb, and Roger (Nancy) Holcomb. Left to honor his love are Chuck’s three children and two step children; Steven (Kathrine – Season) Holcomb, Charles Spencer Holcomb, Cheri (Steve) Marler, Tammi (Troy) Hooper, and R.J. (Brittany) Hooper.

Twelve grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Family, friends, and others whose lives Chuck touched are invited to attend a Memorial Services in Chuck’s honor at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 80 N. 100 W, Willard, UT 84340.

The Holcomb family would like to extend their gratitude to all the wonderful and selfless, friends, neighbors, home healthcare nurses, and members of the Hargis Hill Ward. A special extension of gratitude for the healthcare providers of The Huntsman Cancer Institute and Jackie, Mike, Shelby, Mackenzie, and Jina, who played a vital role in Chuck’s care, by lending a hand or shoulder in this difficult time.
