Steven Richard Nyce, known to friends and family as “Steve,” passed away February 18, 2019 at the age of 61 years. He was born August 8, 1957 in Pennsylvania to Raymond and Lolly (Clara) Nyce. Steve graduated from Weber State University with degree in Data Processing and went on to have a long and successful career with Zion’s Bank.

He was a long-time Millcreek community resident where he thoughtfully tended to his yard, growing ornamental trees and plants in place of grass. Steve was dedicated to family and spent significant time and many weekends visiting with his parents in Ogden. Steve had a full and rewarding life filled with pastimes that he avidly pursued.

He loved all animals with his favorites being dogs and cockatiels; he spent time teaching his bird to whistle songs. He enjoyed the pursuit of science and was especially intrigued by space and the solar system. He was passionate about music, played many instruments including the keyboard, violin and guitar, and enjoyed composing and recording songs.

When Steve’s brother Tom became interested in the banjo, flute and guitar, Steve loaned instruments and spent time sharing his skills and partnering in music composition. Steve is survived by his mother Lolly (Clara) Nyce; brothers, Ray Nyce Jr. (Dianne), Tom Nyce (Claire); sister Terry Phillips (Dave); and niece and nephew, Kevin (Sarah) Phillips, Lindsay (Chris) Butterfield.
