Our beautiful Trilby Jane Bernstein slipped from this earthly realm February 15, 2019. Trilby Jane had an eclectic childhood filled with the love and care of many relatives. Her parents Duncan and Mary Ann cheered her through every soccer, tee-ball and basketball game.

They applauded all of her school programs and dance performances. They took her on frequent fishing trips and sojourns to visit family in California. Her Grandma Flores taught her many early lessons including how to roll out tortillas and to close her eyes and pray during scary parts of movies.

Her Grandma Bernstein brought her along on countless adventures “on the open road” and to every cultural event imaginable. Her Aunt Justina carted her to coffee house concerts, music festivals and out-of-state explorations. Her sister Mariah was her constant childhood companion, conspirator in mischief and covert co-cheater in Scrabble.

She had multitudes of cousins, aunties and uncles who helped her celebrate birthdays and holidays. Mid-way through her life, Trilby got the gift of her little brother Rome whom she loved to hug and encourage. Trilby had the soul of an artist and felt keenly the world’s injustices.

She had a witty sense of humor and often used it to make her loved ones laugh until they could not breathe. She strove to bring beauty to everyday life (so much so that these efforts often made her less than punctual). The last major work of beauty Trilby brought into this world was her darling daughter Bexley Jayne.

More than anything, Trilby aspired to be a worthy mother and caring example to her bubbly little bundle of joy. Trilby’s extended family, along with Bexley’s father Jared and Jared’s family, will help Bexley achieve all the hopes and dreams her mother wished for her. A celebration of Trilby’s life will be announced at a later date.
