Raul Garcia Leyva Sr., 88 passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at his home with his family by his side. Raul was born April 2, 1930 in Hondo, Medina, Texas a son of Tomasa Garcia and Louise Leiba. He attended Our Lady of Guadalupe School.

Raul married Maria Gloria Guzman on February 17, 1952 in Nuevo Laredo, Tamp. Mexico, they have been happily married for 66 years. He lived in Texas for 36 years, Idaho for 3 years and Utah for the last 50 years.

Raul enjoyed planning and organizing social activities for church and family members. He loved to dance, working with cars and fishing. Raul worked as an electrician and retired from Thiokol.

He worked for many years as a door greeter at Walmart. Raul always welcomed everyone with a warm welcome and a big smile. Surviving are his sweetheart Gloria Leyva; sons: Raul Leyva Jr., Stockton, CA; Eusevio Chester Leyva, Brigham City, UT; 13 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by parents, all eight of his siblings and his one and only daughter Elsie. Special thanks to our family and friends for all their love, help and kindness. Funeral Mass will be Thursday, February 21, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Henry’s Catholic Church, 380 S. 200 E., Brigham City, UT.

A viewing will be Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
