Charley Cherokee Sacks, 81, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away Friday, March 1, 2019. He was born at home on March 25, 1937 in the Iron Post Community, near Locust Grove, OK. Charley attended Locust Grove Public School where he graduated and furthered his education at Okmulgee Tech and Connors State College.

He also attended St. Paul Seminary and Southern Methodist University. Charley served in ministry for many years and retired in the summer of 1995. He met the love of his life, Sharon Pathkiller, and they shared many years of life.

They had been together since July 23, 1969 and married on April 4, 1984. Charley will always be remembered for his love of boxing, coaching, OU sports, and college basketball. He also enjoyed fishing, art, and playing music.

He will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson and Ollie Marie Sacks; sisters, Merlene Tiger and Juanita Rice. Charley is survived by wife, Sharon, of the home; children, Charlie Nelson Sack of Muskogee, Curtis Sack (Tracy) of Lawrence, KS, Melvin Sack of OKC, Raymond Sack of OKC, Jackie Wiedel of Tulsa, James Pathkiller (Sonya) of Sallisaw, Anthony Sacks of Muskogee, Lorraine Sacks of Tulsa, Eddie Sacks (Melissa) of Muskogee, Sugar Ali Sacks (Mike Duke) of Muskogee, Linda Sacks of Muskogee, and Caycee Sacks of Muskogee; 23 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; siblings, David Sack of Big Cabin, Lorene Budder of Kenwood, Ida Sack of Tulsa, Mary Sack, and Joanne Garnett, both of Tulsa; along with numerous other family members and many friends.

A memorial service celebrating Charley’s life will be 1PM, Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sam Battiest officiating. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Charley C. Sacks please visit our Sympathy Store.
