Cheryl K. Takach August 10, 1951-July 14, 2018 Granger-Cheryl K. Takach, 66, passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2018, surrounded by her family and friends. Cheryl was born on August 10, 1951, in South Bend to E. John “E.J.” and Irene (Nagy) Szucs. She was preceded in death by her father.

Cheryl is survived by her children, Leslie Takach, Nick (Amy) Takach and Ryan Takach; a grandson, Fox Nicholas Robert Takach; her mother, Irene Szucs; a sister, Sandy (Jim) Brown; a brother, John (Judy) Szucs, and many extended family members and friends. Cheryl was retired from PAC BannerWorks, having worked 15 years as a seamstress for the company. Lovingly known as “Favy” (favorite), she liked spending hot and sunny summer days relaxing at Shavehead Lake, pontooning with family and friends, sharing laughter and making memories.

She looked forward to evening campfires and listening to country music. Favy took delight in spoiling her grandson, granddog, and making certain her landscaping was “immaculate”. She appreciated the simple things in life such as a clean house, a mowed lawn, a washed and waxed bright yellow car, and enjoying cookouts with her kids and family.

She loved decorating with antiques, reading Country Living magazine, and trying new recipes seen on the Food Network. She was a big fan of The Chicago Cubs, Notre Dame Football, Tiger Woods (especially on Sundays), ketchup (on ketchup), Volcano Pizza (that crumbled sausage) and Target’s Market Pantry chocolate ice cream (she’d insist you to try it! ).

We continue to take amusement in some of Favy’s favorite TV shows which included Judge Judy, Live PD and Shark Tank. She’d easily describe any of these things with one word: “Awesome! ” Throughout her difficult battle with cancer she never lost her sense of humor and it continues to help us all.

A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Dream Paws Rescue, 3015 Wild Cherry Ridge West, Mishawaka, IN 46544 or a charity of your choice. Please visit www.
