Lila Alberta Ritschard January 18, 1936-August 9, 2018 Lila Alberta Ritschard, 82, went home to be with Jesus on August 9, 2018. After nine months of Hospice care for lung cancer, she gracefully left this earth to be with her Savior. Lila lived from coast to coast in Florida, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Mishawaka, South Bend, Michigan and California.

After retiring from Rose Property Management and settling back in the South Bend area, Lila met the love of her life, John Ritschard. The two found the perfect retirement job, working as greeters in the South Dining Hall at Notre Dame. They became “Mom and Pop” to the students, praying for them every day.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John Ritschard, in 2016 and leaves behind many children, stepchildren, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and even a great-great grandchild. Lila will be missed by her family, her church family at Osceola United Methodist Church, students at Notre Dame, neighbors and friends. A memorial service will be held at 4 pm, Sunday, September 16, with visitation one hour prior, at Osceola United Methodist Church.
