Emilio “Guy” Gizzi January 26, 1933-September 17, 2018 South Bend-Emilio “Guy” Gizzi, 85, passed away on Monday, September 17 in Dujarie House, Notre Dame. Guy was born on January 26, 1933 in Mishawaka to Luigi and Carmina (Moriconi) Gizzi. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Eugene Gizzi; daughter, Laura Lynn Gizzi and grandchildren, Hope Gizzi and Mary Claire Fulks.

On August 6, 1960 in Mishawaka he married, Linda Clausner. Surviving are his loving wife, Linda; daughter, Beth Ann (Keith) Fulks of Mishawaka; son, Timothy (Peggy) Gizzi of South Bend; grandchildren, Adam Fulks, Cory Gizzi, Rocky Gizzi, Lindsay Gizzi, Enzo Gizzi, Tazio Gizzi, Audreyana Gizzi and Mia Gizzi and a sister, Virginia Zellers of South Bend and nephew, James Zellers of Atlanta, GA. In 1982 he was ordained a Deacon in the Catholic Church and ministered at St. Matthew Cathedral until retiring in 2018.

He was an RN and worked as the supervisor of surgery at Osteopathic hospital for many years. Upon retirement, he worked as a CNA Instructor at Ivy Tech for 15 years; he was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. Visitation will be on Friday, September 21 for 3 to 7 p.m., with a Rosary 4 p.m., in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, September 22 at 9:30 a.m. in St. Matthew Cathedral in South Bend. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Riley Hospital for Children, 6820 Parkdale Place #109, Indianapolis, IN 46254.
