Edward “Smiley” Eli Snellenberger 9-6-1940 to 7-7-2018 Edward Snellenberger, 77, of Mishawaka passed away July 7, 2018 at Trailpoint Village in South Bend. Ed was born to the late John William and Kathryn Elizabeth Snellenberger on September 6, 1940 in South Bend, IN. On June 15, 1967 he married Genevieve Forgot who preceded him in death on April 12, 1976.

Ed found a loving companion in Marvel Weaver Ewing of Mishawaka, IN in 1977. They remained together until Marvel passed away on June 2, 2000. Ed is survived by Marvel’s children and grandchildren.

Ed proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1961 until his honorable discharge in 1965. He retired from Amerirdzt/ Bergen in 2005. Ed enjoyed watching M.A.S.H and old westerns.

He received the nickname “Smiley,” from his friends as he always has a ready smile. Ed’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to his best friend Mike Francis and ask for him to reach out to the family in regards to Ed’s final wishes. Per Ed’s wishes cremation will take place.

No services are scheduled at this time. Hahn Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Donations in Edward’s memory may be made to the Disabled American Veterans by mail to DAV – Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
