Thomas Henry Heintzberger December 20, 1946 – September 18, 2018 Bremen-Thomas Heintzberger, 71, passed away at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka on September 18, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was born to Dorothy (Gooley) and Charles Heintzberger on December 20, 1946. Tom attended St. Monica Elementary School where he was an active in the Boy Scouts moving on to being an Explorer.

He attended Mishawaka High School, graduating in 1965, spending his four years on the MHS swimming team breaking his own butterfly time yearly. Tom qualified for the state meets and in his senior year when he placed 6th overall in the 100 yard butterfly event. After High School Tom attended Sam’s Technical Institute Inc., Indianapolis with an Architectural Engineering Technology Degree in 1967.

Following his education Tom pursued a consulting engineering career with Cole Associates, Floran Associates, and finishing with M/E Design Services, his most loved and enjoyable life working experience. On September 27, 1969 he married the love of his life/the one to grow old with, Marcia Brioli daughter of June (McCauley) and Americo “Duke” Brioli of Mishawaka. They were joined together at St. Bavo’s Church, Mishawaka.

Lifelong Mishawaka residents, the couple moved to Lake of the Woods in Bremen where Tom spent all his summers at the family cottage and to join his parents who already made the lake their permanent residence. Tom was always in building projects and drawing blue prints, whether for and with family or friends. He is responsible for the Mishawka and Lake Homes including the renovation for his parents.

He spent countless hours with his grandchildren, neighbors, and friends pulling them tubbing or skiing. His most valued family activity was pizza time on the pontoon while listening to “Little Big Town’s song “Pontoon” and watching Isabella sing the song. Along with the lake and boating Tom enjoyed sharing time with their son (Tommy), and brother (Mike) and grandsons (Dalton and Dillon) gallivanting, entering, and attending classic car cruise-ins, boat races, swap meets, vintage racing boat races, and the Osceola “ Test andTune” drag strip.

He is survived by his wife Marcia and children Tommy (Melissa), Tonya Lochel, Kirsten Heintzberger and his amazing and loving grandchildren Dalton, Dillon, and Isabella Heintzberger. Also surviving are two brothers Mike Heintzberger, John (Marilee) Heintzberger, and sister, Pat Wilson. He has many nieces and nephews plus great nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

Tom and Marcia are so very blessed and filled with gratitude to all the family members and dear friends who always thought of him and offered assistance during his difficult times. Funeral services will be held on Marcia and Tom’s 49th Anniversary in celebration to their new life, Thursday, September 27, 2018 at St Dominic’s Church, 803 West Bike Street, Bremen. Pre visitation will be 10:00 – 12:00 followed by a Christian Mass.
