Chester “Chet” A. Shevey, 101, West Bend,passed away peacefully and was welcomed into Heaven by his loving wife and son on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Cornerstone Assisted Living. Chet was born on June 11, 1917 in Pound, Wisc the son of the late Charles and Martha (Seleski) Shevey and was raised in Milwaukee. He was a graduate of West Division High School with the class of 1936.

In 1940 he married the former Elizabeth “Betty” Hohlweck in Milwaukee and the couple enjoyed almost 63 years together. Betty preceded him in death on July 22, 2003. Chet started selling cars when he was 17 years of age and became a familiar and trusted name in the Milwaukee Greater area.

He was an honest and fair businessman, who truly had a servants heart and never missed the opportunity to give when he could to ensure that people and customers were taken care of. Chet’s motto was “A good name is better than riches”. Chet is survived by his daughter Nancy Isaacson, his 5 grandchildren Cameron Isaacson, Andy (Erin) Isaacson, Trevor and his fiancé Jess, Taylor, and Tristen Shevey, 6 great-grandchildren and 1 brother-in-law Carl Hohlweck.

He is further survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and good friends He was preceded in death by 1 son Charles Shevey, 1 son-in-law Scott Isaacson. He was further preceded in death by his siblings, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Gathering of family and friend will be held from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. (Noon) on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Salem United Church of Christ, located north of intersection Hwy W/Hwy H in Wayne, 5 miles west of Kewaskum. A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 P.M. (Noon) at the church with Pastor Ruth Hansen officiating.

Burial at the church cemetery. The family would like to offer a special thank you to the staffs of Arora at Home Hospice and Cornerstone Assisted Living for all of their loving care and compassion shown to Chet. Also, a warm note of appreciation to the Dr. Trivedi and his staff for all of their concern.
