Diane’s Obituary Diane Marie Van Pietersom, 76, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 12, 2019, after a courageous battle with ALS. Diane was born on August 30, 1942, in Milwaukee to the late Raymond and Ida Carpentier, and she graduated from Pius XI Catholic High School in 1960. Following high school, Diane earned her LPN degree from Sacred Heart School of Nursing and served as a lifelong medical professional at various hospitals and clinics throughout eastern Wisconsin.

On September 29, 1962, she married the late Eugene Van Pietersom of Milwaukee where they resided until moving to Green Bay in 1969. Diane was an active and vibrant member of St. John the Baptist Parish in Howard for over 45 years playing the guitar, singing in the choir, and volunteering her time and talents to the parish community. Diane was a loving daughter, loyal sister and wife, and an especially proud and caring mother and grandmother to her three sons and five grandchildren.

She loved being outside in the sun, gardening at her home, sharing time with her neighbors, caring for her pet cats and birds, and playing tennis with her friends. Diane is survived by her sister, Joanne; her sons, James (Laura), Jeffrey (Christine), and Jason; and her grandchildren, Lindsey, William, Spencer, Henry, and George. Family and friends may visit at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2597 Glendale Ave.

, on Saturday, January 26, from 9 to 11 a.m., followed by the Mass of Resurrection at 11 a.m., celebrated by Rev. Scott Valentyn. Blaney Funeral Home is assisting the family.
