Floyd’s Obituary Floyd H. Bessert, 89, Green Bay, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2019. He was born October 25, 1929, to Herman and Blondina (Beidenbender) Bessert in Marshfield, Wisconsin. Floyd graduated from Green Bay East High School.

He went on to work for Green Bay Packaging, where he worked for 36 years until his retirement. Floyd loved to play and watch any kind of sports and was a big Packers fan. In his younger years he was a great fast pitch softball player.

It seemed as if every night of the week he had another sport team to play for. Floyd also enjoyed the outdoors and his cabin at Robert’s Lake. He could look at his lake and tell you exactly where the fish were, then he would fish from the dock.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce (Compton) Bessert; his children, Dan (Lydia) Bessert, Brad (Sue) Bessert, Bill (Julie) Bessert and Julie (Tim) Devries; nine grandchildren, Amy (Jerry) Campbell, Kyle (Kalli) Bessert, Holly (Alex) Edwin, Ben (Natalie Winkler) Bessert, Dan Mier, Jenny (Stephen) Hoppe, Amanda (Luke) Olson, Jake (Amber) Reinhold and Adam Reinhold; 15 great-grandchildren, Helen, Lewis, Trey, Bryson, Veda, Xander, Abby, Levi, Nick, Matthew, Haley, Emily, William, Mei and Wyatt; three brothers-in-law, Bert Compton, George (Diane) Compton and Don Vannieuwenhoven; six sisters-in-law, Lorraine Bessert, Betty Ozarowicz, Carol Baetsen, Mary Garrity, Nancy Compton and Barb Compton. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents; one grandchild, Chuckie Bessert; five siblings, Adline Paape, Lorrie Spooner, Vernon Bessert, Clifford Bessert and Herman Bessert Jr.; four sisters-in-law, Arlene Compton, Bernadine (Andy) Ozarowicz, Bernice (Emil) Klimczyk and Ella Vannieuwenhoven; six brothers-in-law, William (Dorothy) Compton, Harold (Germaine) Compton, Dick Compton, Jim Compton, Ron Garrity and Ray Ozarowicz.
