Joyce M. Milquet September 22, 1921 – January 17, 2019 Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences Joyce M. Milquet, 97, Green Bay, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019. She was born on September 22, 1921, in Coleman, WI to Adolph and Clara (LeMere) Castonia. Joyce grew up on a farm south of Coleman and attended a country school.

She graduated from Coleman High School in 1940. Joyce met Robert G. Milquet when he returned from the south Pacific at the end of World War II. On July 13, 1946, she married Robert at St. Willebrord Catholic Church and they had two children, Steven and Sarah.

Robert preceded her in death on April 18, 2003. After attending school in Green Bay, Joyce worked in real estate for eight years and then in the public accounting field for 35 years. After retiring, she worked part-time as a substitute teacher for Encompass Child Care for six years.

Joyce’s years of volunteer services began in 1968 when she joined the Brown County Association for Handicapped Citizens, now ASPIRO. She served on their board for 17 years in all positions and on many committees. Joyce also served as a member on two area boards that offered religious instruction to the disabled.

She volunteered with the Packerland Jets Special Olympics agency for 30 years serving as Coordinator assisting in sports training. She was also involved with Area 5 Special Olympics as Treasurer. Joyce was an avid bowler and often said “the only excuse for not bowling is a broken leg”.

She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, golfing, and was an avid reader. Joyce was a current member of the Brown County Historical Society and volunteered as a docent at Hazelwood Museum for 10 years. For some years, she had been a member of the Bay Area Genealogical Society and Friends of the Museum.

Joyce also found time to spend with her family and get-togethers with her sisters, brother and parents; as well as having fun at cousin reunions too. She also liked to travel, taking trips to many areas which included Alaska. Joyce was a fan of football, having attended Green Bay Packer games; and also enjoyed attending Milwaukee Brewer games, despite their losing seasons; and the UW-Madison sports.

Survivors include her sister, Cleo Fannin, Hortonville; brother, Don Castonia, Menasha; sister-in-law, Marlene Milquet Drewiski; nieces, nephews, cousins, friends; and special friend, Arthur Covi. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Robert (2003); son, Steven (2011); daughter, Sarah Milquet (May 2, 2018); her parents; sister and brother-in-law, Cly and Al Nesser; sister and brother-in-law, Levern and Jack Bolton; sister-in-law, Mary Castonia; and brother-in-law, Milton Fannin. Friends may call at St. Joseph Catholic Church, corner of Ninth Street and Twelfth Avenue, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday, January 24, followed by the Mass of Resurrection at 11 a.m. with Rev.

David Schmidt officiating. Entombment will be in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. Blaney Funeral Home is assisting the family.
