Clarence “Bill” William Dye July 08, 1919 – January 23, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Clarence W. “Bill” Dye, 99, of Moline, IL, passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at Park Vista Retirement Living in East Moline, IL. Per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A memorial service will be held in the spring of this year.

Inurnment will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline, IL. Bill was born July 8, 1919, in Rock Island, IL, son of Tennel and Mary (Swinson) Dye. On January 11, 1947, in Moline, he married Vilma M. “Billie” Peters, who preceded him in death June 3, 2002.

Bill served as a Captain in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a General Contractor, building homes in the area for 50 years, a member of the Moline Elks Club, and the QC Home Builders. Bill was a great fan of aviation, and loved flying planes.

Survivors include a daughter, Cathy (Todd) Bollaert of Rock Island, IL; a son, Terry (Michele) Dye of Carbon Cliff, IL; a daughter, Saundra Strosneider of Ankeny, IA; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, and by a daughter, Lori.
