Cleone Wilkinson August 18, 1931-December 10, 2018 Cleone LaRea Wilde Wilkinson, 87, passed away peacefully December 10, 2018 at her home in Ogden, Utah, surrounded by her loving family. Cleone was born August 18, 1931 to William Eldred Wilde and Adeline LaRea Farnsworth in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was raised in the small community of Coalville, Utah in a loving and industrious home where she learned many useful skills working alongside her Mother and Father.

When Cleone was 16 years old her Mother passed away. In addition to attending school, she assisted her father and sister in the duties of caring for their home. When a senior, she was elected Student Body Vice President at North Summit High school from which she graduated in 1949.

While there, she enjoyed choir, and playing the cello and violin in the orchestra. She also played the piano and offered that talent to her children and others throughout her life. Following High School, she attended Utah State Agricultural College for one year.

Cleone married Clifton Brooks Wilkinson, a high school classmate and fellow Stake MIA Representative, June 20, 1951 in the Salt Lake Temple. Always an active and faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Cleone served in the Relief Society, Primary and Young Women auxiliaries wherever she resided around the country; in early married life (Hoytsville, Utah), military service (Great Falls, Montana, Travis Air Force Base, California, Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland), university studies (Provo, Utah), and work experience (Salt Lake City, and Ogden, Utah). Cleone enjoyed reading and being outdoors working in her vegetable and flower gardens.

Her skilled hands used the talents she gained in her early years at home, cooking, crocheting, sewing, knitting, and quilting. She offered the gifts of her hands freely to others. She was a loving, saintly, and understanding Mother, thoughtful of others, with a kind demeanor and soft empathetic heart who lived a life of selfless service.

She was quiet, but with a quick wit and funny side that made her family smile when those rare occasions were revealed. She truly loved and delighted in her family, and in sharing life with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, William E. and Adeline L.Wilde; a son, Clifton Kirt; her sister, Colleen W. Marchant, and step-mother, Florence B. Wilde.

She is survived by her husband, Clifton; children, Blake Wilkinson (Jolene), Colleen Rainsdon (Marvin), Dale Wilkinson (Robyn), Eric Wilkinson (Joyce), LaRea Low (Steve); her sister, Ann Wilde; seventeen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. Sincere gratitude is expressed to Peak Specialty Group Hospice, especially Annette and Alisha for their thoughtful, attentive care; for loving and caring friends and neighbors; for Ann O’Grady who cared for Cleone during some of her most difficult times; and for the Shoreline Ridge Ward Relief Society for providing compassionate service.
