Daniel E. Demmy, 73, of Springfield, passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2018. He was born on September 1, 1945, in Springfield, the son of the late Woodrow C. and Margaret L. (Brown) Demmy. Dan graduated from Springfield Shawnee High School and attended The Ohio State University.

He farmed his entire life and owned and operated Demmy Construction for 43 years. He enjoyed boating, biking, history and traveling to Florida. Family was very important to Dan and considered his friends as family… Read More » too.

Dan will be remembered for his kindness and generosity. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Anne Carolyn (Zinck), three daughters: Julie (Scott) Mercier, Amy Demmy, and Bonnie (Luke) Harbage; seven grandchildren: Matthew, Aaron and Alex Mercier, Daniel and Shawn Demmy, and Lucy and Demmy Harbage; one brother, Steve (Sue) Demmy, several cousins, nieces and nephews and many friends. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Chuck Demmy.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, September 30th from 2-5:00 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME where a celebration of his life will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in the Enon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution in memory of Dan to the Cleveland Clinic Taussig Cancer Institute. Gifts can be sent to Cleveland Clinic Foundation, P.O.
