REGINA HOPE (YOUNG) McKENZIE, 92, of Urbana, formerly of Springfield, went to meet her Savior on Sunday, September 3, 2018 at Springfield Regional Medical Center. Hope was born on December 8, 1925, in Van Lear, Kentucky to Thomas M. and Terie (Daniel) Young. She was the last of their 12 children to survive.

She married Manis S. McKenzie on June 9, 1950 in Johnson County, Kentucky. Manis and Hope migrated to Springfield in 1953 where they made their home and raised their family. … Read More » She was preceded in death by her husband in 2000 and her precious little girl, Janet in 1963.

Hope is survived by her sons, Manis S. “Sam” (Barbara) McKenzie of Hilliard, Ohio, Gary (Pam) McKenzie of Springfield and Terry (Melanie) McKenzie with whom she made her home in Urbana; her grandchildren, Samantha McKenzie and Jed (Maggie) McKenzie of Hilliard, Brad (Melissa) McKenzie of Galloway, Ohio, Gary (Amber) McKenzie of North Lewisburg, Jennifer (Ricky) Stallard of Springfield, and Laura McKenzie of Urbana; eleven great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Whether she was Mom, Grandma, Mamaw, Great Grandma, or Aunt Hope, she was dearly loved and cherished. Hope’s funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME with Brian Borton officiating.

The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
