MERLE A. BAKER, 75, of Springfield passed away Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born December 11, 1942 in Springfield, the son of the late James F. and Evelyn L. (Grieser) Baker. Merle was a dedicated husband, father and friend of many in the community.

He was a hard-working man who dedicated many years to the dairy industry and a life long farmer. (Toland) Baker; two daughters, Lora (Kevin) Baker Jones and Kerry (Jeff) Boss; two brothers, Roger (Jean) and Gerald (Ann) Baker and three step-grandsons, Ollie, Finn and Brock Jones.

He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Jane Boss. The family would like to express their gratitude to all the loving people who cared for him at home and Forest Glen. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 from 4-6 pm in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME.

A celebration of Merle’s life will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 am in the funeral home with Pastor Jim Welch officiating. Burial will follow in Lawrenceville Cemetery.
