Verna Faye Dyer, 90, of Springfield, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 10, 2018. She was born on January 4, 1928, in Flat Gap, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Burley and Dora (Salyers) McCarty. She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Forest Dyer, two daughters: Gale (Chuck) Poole and Jan (Dave) Jones; grandchildren: Charlie Poole, Krisie Mabry, Jo Anna (Ben) Valentine, and Jennifer Pack; eight great grandchildren: Owen, Allie, Kylie, Karson, Stella, Shawn, Olivia… Read More » and Kai; two brothers: Franklin “DD” (Connie) McCarty, and Ray (Rosemary) McCarty; one sister, Jessie (Doug) Sloan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Marge Tomlin in 2010 and six siblings. She was a member of the South Charleston FWB Church and a true Proverbs 31 woman of God. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, September 13th from 5-7:00 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME where a Celebration of her Life will be held at 1:00p.m. on Friday.

Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the Free Will Baptist Family Ministries, 90 Stanley Ln. , Greenville, TN, 37743.
