Shawn Matthew Kellis, 47, of Urbana, formerly of Springfield, passed away early on Sunday, September 24, 2018. He was born on August 22, 1971, in Springfield, the son of Carolyn Sue (Mick) Kellis and Donald Earl Kellis. Shawn graduated from Springfield North High School in 1988 and took a few business college classes.

He had worked as a welder, factory laborer, and various tree service positions and held dreams of starting his own tree service business. He often shared his talents of drawing… Read More » and cooking with family and friends. Shawn could work hard, play hard, and feast like a king.

Although he enjoyed thrill-seeking at amusement parks and haunted houses, he especially looked forward to laughter, goofy pranks, and special moments with his family and friends. Shawn is survived by his father, Don Kellis, daughter, Darrian Machelle Kellis, son, Payden Daniel Titus sister, Cynthia Leigh (Chad) Kaufman, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn Kellis, and grandparents: Dorothy Virginia Watkins, Lawrence Raymond Watkins, Everett Eugene Mick, Dorma Iona Kellis, and Damon Edwin Kellis.

Shawn can be remembered as a man of compassion, generosity, dreams, and classic Shawn humor. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, September 28th at 7:00 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Family and friends will gather from 6-7:00 p.m. for a calling hour.
