Obituary for Danny Ray York Danny Ray York, 72, of Johnston City, passed away at 9:38 p.m., Monday, September 10, 2018 at his residence. Danny was born November 23, 1945 in Marion to Zac and Nettie (Perry) York. He married Darla Ann Merrell in Paducah, Kentucky.

Together they have shared 26 years of marriage. Danny was retired, having been a crane operator at Maytag in Herrin. He also served many years as a volunteer fire fighter with the Johnston City Fire Department.

Danny was a member of the Lone Oak Baptist Church in Energy. He was also a member of the Coal Belt Association of Firefighters. He enjoyed wood working and attending car shows.

Danny is survived by his wife, Darla York; son, Danny Ray (Debbie) York, Jr of Johnston City; daughter, Kenya Ann (Scott) Morse of Marion; step-daughter, Deidre Meadows of Herrin; eleven grandchildren, Dakota York, Garrett York, Kesler Weeks, Devann Weeks, Alexandria Weeks, Kirstin Weeks, Cassie Meadows, Jacob Meadows and Bethany Meadows, Jeffery Fann and Corey Emery; one great-granddaughter, Jada Lynn York. He is preceded in death by his parents and two infant brothers. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Pyle Funeral Home with Rev.

Bryant Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Poordo Cemetery.
