Obituary for David Alan Hensley David “Dave” Alan Hensley, 69, passed away Monday, October 1, 2018 at his home. Dave was born July 30, 1949 to Harley David and Faye Angeline (Bates) Hensley in Caldwell. On July 17, 1981, he married Pamela Kay (Marsh) Hensley.

She survives. Dave attended Byers Methodist Church during his youth. He worked at Marsh Engine Service and Supply for 18 years as a mechanic, then spent some time at Logtech, Central Kansas Crude and Pratt Well Service and most recently drove a bus for Pratt County Public Transportation.

He was a member of the Pratt American Legion Riders, National Rifle Association, BPOE Elks Lodge, Ninnescah Valley Archers, Kansas Bow Hunters Association and WWII Historical Reenactment Society. He also was a Cub Scout Master and coached baseball for Pratt Recreation. He was an avid fisherman and sportsman.

Dave was very proud and instrumental in the renaming of Pratt County Veterans Memorial Lake. He is survived by his wife, Pam; son, Heath (Kelsey) Hensley of Hutchinson; daughter, Brenna (Robie) Thomas of Pratt; brother, Rod (Melanie) Hensley of Derby; sisters, Kathy (Steve) Schuette of Dodge City and Janis (Larry) Honeman of Pratt; mother in-law, Gloria Marsh of Pratt; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Madison, Ryan and Alex Hensley, Kira Fishel and Barrett Thomas; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jason Hensley; and father in-law, Don Marsh.

Cremation has taken place. Friends may sign the book Thursday and Friday 9:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 6, 2018 Larrison Mortuary with Pastor Mike McGovney presiding. Memorials may be made to Kansas Honor Flights in care of Larrison Mortuary.
