Struthers – David J. Zupko, 58, died unexpectedly early Wednesday morning, September 19, 2018 in the emergency room of St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center with his family at his side. David, affectionately known as “Big Dave” was born June 19, 1960 in Youngstown, a son of John and Mary (Cofelice) Zupko. A lifelong resident of Struthers, Dave was a 1978 graduate of Struthers High School.

He worked as a heavy equipment operator for 25+ years for Marucci and Gaffney, retiring in 2016 and was member of the Teamsters Union. In his free time, he loved watching and attending NASCAR races, cheering for his favorite driver Kyle Busch. Dave will always be remembered for his generous nature and willingness to help anyone in need.

He is survived by his sister, Sandra Caggiano of Struthers; brother, Dan (Tracey) Zupko of Lowellville; aunt, Rose Svasta of Canfield; nieces and nephews, Chelsea Caggiano, Vincent Caggiano, both of Boardman, Danny Zupko Jr., and Evan Zupko, both of Lowellville; and numerous cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. There will be no calling hours or services.
