Dean E. Kopp, 81, of Kewanee, died Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at his home. Dean was born April 19, 1937, in Kewanee, the son of Frank E. and Laura (Vandenberg) Kopp. Dean married Judith Westervelt on July 21, 1957 at the Buda Methodist Church, she survives.

Dean is survived by his wife; three children, Fred (Deb) Kopp, Dena (Brent) Huber, Brenda Kopp all of Kewanee; six grandchildren, Matt (Jill) Huber, Mandy (Tia Thompson) Huber, Malerie (Chad) Schmidt, Lorelei (Greg) Ohlson, Brandon (Tricia… Read More » Galli) Kopp, and Joshua Kopp. Also surviving are four great grandchildren, Jaton, Paxon, Madon, Bentley, and another on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Terry Kopp.

Dean was a truck driver for US Ecology, Sheffield. Dean was a Ryder driver of the year and the Regional driver of the year twice. He enjoyed doing yardwork.

He loved steam trains, airplanes and attending air shows. Dean loved cats, especially his cat, Tish. He especially loved attending kids, grandchildren, and great grandchildren’s sporting events.

His grandchildren and great grandchildren were his pride and joy. Dean belonged to the First Presbyterian Church, Kewanee. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Friday, September 14, 2018 at Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home.

Pastor Dan Craig will officiate. Burial will be in Floral Hill Cemetery, Neponset. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home.
