Della Smith, age 87, passed away on June 15, 2018. Born on November 25, 1930, Della was married to Paul Smith Jr. for 67 years before he passed away in 2016. She had one daughter, Linda Smith Ivey of Utica; two granddaughters Alicia Ivey and Lindsay Ivey Burden; five great- granddaughters; and two great-grandsons.

Della is survived by her brother, Charles Porter and predeceased by her sister, Louise Jeffery. Della loved the simple things in life: bologna sandwiches, watching Kentucky basketball, and her dogs. (She mostly stuck to either Boxers or Boston Terriers, but she did take a 14-year hiatus with a pair of Shih Tzus.

) She also loved the sun and was fond of spending the winter someplace warm where she could watch cable TV… specifically, her “stories”, the Food Network, and Wheel of Fortune. Della especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed passing down her love for cooking and creating things. The family will celebrate her life with a private memorial service.
