Delrice Walker Mangrum August 28, 1946 – January 06, 2019 Share this obituary Local Florists Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Funeral services for Delrice Walker Mangrum, 72, of Lufkin, will be held Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Eric Peyton and Brother Brad Forrest officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park. Mrs. Mangrum was born August 28, 1946 in Lufkin, Texas, the daughter of the late Velma Maurice (Collins) and David Harold “D.H.” Walker.
She died Sunday, January 6, 2019 at her residence in Lufkin. Mrs. Mangrum was a lifelong resident of Lufkin. She graduated from Lufkin High School and from Stephen F. Austin University, where she was an Honors student and on the Dean’s List.
Following graduation, she worked as a Certified Public Accountant for the Axley & Rode accounting firm. Most recently, Mrs. Mangrum worked for 16 years for Lufkin I.S.D. Mrs. Mangrum was a member of Lancewood Baptist Church where she was very involved in church activities.
She loved going to church and she always loved the Lord. She was also a homemaker and a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Mangrum loved her family and her grandchildren.
She also enjoyed doing puzzles. Survivors include her husband, Royce Mangrum of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Dena and Buddy Weisinger of Caldwell; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Jennifer Mangrum of Lufkin; grandchildren, Ashley and Cade Tullos of Lufkin; Lauren and Kendall Smith of Lubbock, Kamron Niosi, Alexis Cordero, Justin Mangrum, Madison Mangrum, and Lauren Loeffler, all of Lufkin; seven great grandchildren, Rhilynn and Coulson Tullos, Kayden, Kenly and Karter Smith, and Michael and Hunter Niosi; and caregiver and friend, Courtnie Marrero-Olivares, to whom the family extends a special thanks. Mrs. Mangrum was preceded in death by her parents.
Pallbearers will be Kamron Niosi, Justin Mangrum, Ron Taylor, Keith Mangrum, Kendall Smith and Cade Tullos. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Ave. , Lufkin, Texas 75904 or to the Alzheimer’s Association, East Texas Regional Office, 304 N. Raguet, Lufkin, Texas 75904.
