Obituary for Deno M. Menas Deno M. Menas, 82, of Fond du Lac, died Saturday, May 26 at Hospice Home of Hope. Born May 30, 1935, in Waukegan, IL, the son of Michael & Demetra Menas, he graduated from Sheboygan Central High School in 1953. Deno was an engineer for the Chicago & Northwestern Railroad for 43 years.

On September 3, 1961, Deno married Arlene Phillips of Fond du Lac. She preceded him in death on August 23, 1989. Deno was a proud member and past president of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church of Fond du Lac.

He was also a member of the Fond du Lac Masonic Lodge No. 26: Free & Accepted Masons as well as the Scottish Rite Valley of Green Bay, Tripoli Shrine in Milwaukee, and Fond du Lac Shrine Club. He is survived by two daughters: Demetra (Luis) Disotuar of Chicago and Lia Menas of Madison.

He is also survived by his partner of 24 years, Carol Breitengross of Fond du Lac. Further survived by two sisters-in-law: Julie Phillips of Fond du Lac, Donna (John) Anagnos of Mt. Prospect, IL as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife as well as seven siblings: Marian Frankos, Peggy Ladas both of Chicago, Stella Tiboris, Emily Wensauer, and George Menas of Sheboygan, Diana James and Anton Menas, both of Fond du Lac. Deno was a thoughtful and caring father, partner and friend to many. He loved a good laugh, a great story and spending time with his family and friends.

Additionally, on Deno’s behalf, a very special thank you to Dick and Barb Mortensen of Fond du Lac, your enduring friendship, support and laughter will always be remembered. Deno is loved and will be missed! VISITATION: Family and friends may call on Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 198 N. Macy Street, Fond du Lac, from 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM, with Trisagion Prayers beginning at 9:15 AM.

FUNERAL: Funeral services will follow the visitation, beginning at 10:30. Burial services will follow at Rienzi Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be direct to either Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church or the Hospice Home of Hope, both in Fond du Lac.
